My youngest daughter has just seen a picture of herself from around two years ago. In the photo, she is sitting between her brother and sister and is around 18 months old and other than looking a little younger, she looks exactly like she does now. Soft blond curls framing her small, angelic face. So, I was a little stumped that she didn’t recognise herself. Continue reading “Dementia: In Her Shoes”
I have just returned from another trip to the vets with our dog. Continue reading “Socks, Knickers and Dementia Idealism”
It’s been an exciting week in our house: Martha was in the local paper yesterday as she’s raising money for Alzheimer’s UK (more on that in another post), which made her feel like a bit of a celebrity and of course, it was Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, which meant my eldest two got a bit giddy and unnecessary for a couple of days. Continue reading “Young Love”
I have a lovely friend called Biddy. She is a very beautiful and warm and very giving octogenarian, who was a client first and then she became a much beloved friend. Continue reading “The Importance of Friendship”
It’s been a few weeks since I wrote a blog post. I blame everyone and everything in my life but my tired, over-worked, stressed and increasingly haggard-looking self. Continue reading “Shit happens”
So, I have just returned from my trip up to see The Crazy and my world-weary father. It was lovely to see them both and to spend some time together. Hubby didn’t come, he stayed and worked hard whilst I had a wee holiday. Continue reading “I Hope”
It’s Christmas Eve. The kids are in bed. Hubby has gone up to bed and I am left downstairs with my chamomile tea and Kylie screeching at me from the Royal Albert Hall. Continue reading “Ho Ho Bloody Ho!”
It’s been a very busy few weeks in our household. Hubby is working 7 days a week right now and the kids are constantly doing stuff at school – end of term lovely stuff – stuff that makes me feel guilty when I don’t show my face. Continue reading “Puppy Love”
I have just returned from a trip up to Scotland to visit my parents. I took all three of my monsters with me as Hubby was working and I also thought the children would be a good distraction for my dad. I was right – the constant noise: the elder two arguing and tussling with each other on a virtually constant basis, plus the littlest screeching at the top of her voice every time she didn’t get her own way certainly caused a distraction. Continue reading “If Only!”
