Dementia: Simply The Best!
Tina Turner’s ‘Simply The Best’ was on the radio this afternoon. Graham Norton was interviewing an actress who is currently playing Tina on the West End. I wasn’t listening too intently, I was folding endless piles of laundry. But, then that song came on and, as only music can, I was transported back to a day around 25 years ago. Mamma Mia – Here I Go Again
I’ve always loved ABBA. I think I was born with the melodies flowing through my veins. One of my first memories was of my mother doing yoga in our dining room, her long rope-type things strewn on the floor and ABBA playing on the record player. Continue reading “Mamma Mia – Here I Go Again”

Help

Honestly, the examples are endless. Continue reading “Help”
Pink Castles and Fairy Tales
I have ventured up to sunny Scotland (no, I am not being ironic, it really is!) with the littlest daughter to see my parents. We arrived yesterday after a long journey, where Mabel chattered away inanely for the first third of the journey, fell asleep for the second third and then moaned for the final leg. Continue reading “Pink Castles and Fairy Tales”
Giving Mo A Run For His Money!
I can hardly walk today. I am literally hobbling around and in my own mind am resembling someone who has recently had both hips replaced, both knees replaced and has had an embarrassing accident “downstairs”. I kid you not. I am also giving off strange sound effects as well – little “oohs” and “ahhs” as I attempt to get down or upstairs, get out of my car or stand up after sitting down for a few minutes. Putting my shoes on is a particularly noisy affair today! Continue reading “Giving Mo A Run For His Money!”
Can Singing Help Battle Dementia?
